Cycling
Power your adventure
Visit historic landmarks, vineyards and rivers. Stop for a picnic or pub lunch along the way. This is a fun way to explore the area at your own pace. We have two Raleigh Motus Electric hybrid bikes available in adult sizes, equipped with helmets and secure bike locks. The Motus makes easy work out of long journeys and sharp inclines which means you’ll be able to tackle the South Downs roads easily.
Check our events calendar for cycling tours.
£25/day. Suitable for age 14+
Please note these electric hybrid bikes are not suitable for off-road.

Stargazing
In 2016 the South Downs National Park became the world’s newest International Dark Sky Reserve. Given our location, at the heart of the South Downs, it is unsurprising that taking a ‘star bath’ is one of our favourite activities. Looking at an unfathomably vast sky slows us down, quietens our minds and puts everything in perspective. If you wish to see bright planets, nebulae, galaxies and star clusters in more detail you can hire our StarSense Explorer telescopes during your stay.
£20/stay (up to one week)
Image shown is the Milky Way as seen from Westerlands. We recommend you plan your visit around a new moon.
