Charles Dowding

NO DIG GURU & AUTHOR

  • Charles started organic and no dig market gardening in 1982, on 1.5 acres./ 6000 m² in Somerset, on the family farm. His vegetable grew successfully, with fewer weeds than normal, and he was able to gain some new understandings.

    Charles now shares globally the benefits of a no dig approach for vegetables, using no fertilisers or other synthetic inputs.

    His first book “Organic Gardening”  came out in 2007, with 14 more titles since then. His most recent book is Compost, published September 2024 at the same time as his 2025 Calendar of Sowing Dates.

    Since launching in 2013 the Charles Dowding YouTube channel, he has used the possibilities of ‘new media’ to inspire and inform.

    He continues to run a 0.4 acre / 1600 m² no dig market garden, at Homeacres, Somerset, UK at 51° north.

Roger Morgan-Grenville

NATURE ACTIVIST & AUTHOR

  • Roger Morgan-Grenville is a writer, speaker and campaigner on conservation, with a particular interest in biodiversity loss and recovery. As a story teller, he believes strongly in the power of persuasion and entertainment in the battle to halt decline, and promote regeneration.

  • Mark Cocker is a multi-award-winning author and naturalist who writes and broadcasts on wildlife in a variety of national media. His latest book is a celebration of the interconnectedness of all life entitled One Midsummer’s Day: Swifts and the Story of Life on Earth. His 12 other books include A Claxton Diary: Further Field Notes from a Small Planet (2019) which won the East Anglian Book of the Year Award and Crow Country which was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize, and won the New Angle Prize. 

Richard Prideaux

WILD FOOD & SURVIVAL EXPERT

  • Richard Prideaux is a professional forager, instructor and food guide with 20 years of experience, working as an outdoor professional. He now spends a good deal of his time helping chefs and businesses source wild ingredients safely and ethically, running foraging and outdoor cooking courses and is the co-host of The Wild Food People Podcast. He can also be found laying hedges, managing woodland habitat, and assisting with deer management on farms and estates across the valley in North East Wales he now calls home

Sam Beard

  • I have worked in hospitality all my life and have always been drawn to businesses with a strong emphasis on fresh local food.  We took over the Horse Guards 18 years ago and over time have nurtured a small holding alongside the pub with the aim of supplying the kitchen with as many ingredients as we can, from lamb to Kohl rabi and pork to salad leaves......
