Barn Cottage

7 guests | 4 beds | 1.5 bathrooms

Adjacent to the Victorian stable yard, Barn Cottage is a quirky self contained cottage which has been sympathetically restored and mindfully designed. Fully self-sufficient with ethically sourced furniture and a private garden.

Space to be together

  • Contemporary kitchen

Full of light with stunning views over the private garden and across the fields.

  • Cottage Dining

Seating for 7. Perfectly sized for cosy family meals and board games and located in the kitchen which means the kids can help with meal prep while Dad cooks lunch.

  • Open Plan Lounging

Beyond the dining area you can relax with a comfy sofa, soft leather chair and TV.

  • Private Garden

A tranquil environment in which to relax and unwind amidst idyllic surroundings.

Space to think

Our snug provides a cosy space for individual guests to enjoy some quiet time to think and write. With a comfy leather chair in the corner, this is also a perfect spot to read a book.

While we hope you will use it as a space for stress-reduction techniques such as writing a journal, we recognise that sometimes work is a necessity even for short breaks in nature.

This area makes a perfect office for remote meetings or to study for upcoming exams!

Dog friendly accommodation

We love dogs here at Westerlands. Barn Cottage provides dog bowls, treats and a private fenced in garden.

We do ask guests to bring their own dog beds.

We support the SDNP Take the lead campaign which means keeping dogs on a lead outside the garden. This is for their own safety around farm machinery as well as the welfare of our animals - our chickens roam free - as well as the abundance of wildlife here on the South Downs.

Bring your horse on holiday

Our stable yard is a one minute walk from Barn Cottage and this is where you can arrange turnout and stabling for your horse while you are staying with us. Please contact us for more information and prices.

You can also book additional horses for you and your guests to explore the South Downs. Rides can be booked at our Trekking Centre.

We look forward to seeing you here soon
